An Icon is Born.

A stunning new calendar which captures some of Gozo's most beautiful girls in some of the island's most spectacular locations was launched today.

‘Cafe Jubilee’ Director Alex Scicluna today announced the launch of the Jubilee Calendar 2006.

The Jubilee Calendar 2006 features some of Gozo’s most beautiful girls set in various locations around the Island. The photo shoot which took place during July this year, utilised the talents of an internationally acclaimed team: Photographer, Alice Hawkins, Stylist, Sam Willoughby and Make-up by Gemma. The industry experts, who flew down to Malta specifically for the shoot, have worked for big brands such as Vogue, Pop, Bon, and Arena. The models for the shoot were chosen following a careful selection process by the photographer and Alex Scicluna.

A new project for Café Jubilee, Alex Scicluna explains the reasoning behind the calendar and the future prospects for the Jubilee brand.

Alex says ‘The idea first came to me when a close friend who was visiting Gozo, created a small scale calendar for his friends using photography that he took while on holiday. I thought then that it would be a fantastic idea to help push the Jubilee brand even further into the market if we created our own calendar. Something which was closely connected to Gozo, where Jubilee first took off.’

He continues: ‘As many people are aware, aside from our outlets in Gozo and Valletta, we will soon be launching the new café in Gzira. My brothers and I have always had big dreams and ambitions for the Jubilee name and even though we are replicating a proved and tested formula for the new café - we really wanted to start adding complimentary products and services that would make the Jubilee brand a more comprehensive offering to old and new clients.’

When asked how much further they would like to take the brand, Alex replied: ‘We are looking into all aspects of growth, but our first ambitions are to move into food merchandising and possibly publishing, such as the first Jubilee recipe book. The Calendar is a brave move for Jubilee, but with our friends and colleagues already so keen to get hold of a copy, I think we are already on the road to success. We would like to make this Calendar something people look out for every year, and for friends and clients to treasure it as much as we already do.’

The Café Jubilee Calendar 2006 is available with immediate effect from all Jubilee outlets and will also soon be available from leading stationers and newsagents around the Islands.
